The church wasn’t some idea that emerged out of Paul’s missionary journeys. Jesus came to create a new stand-out community that would model to the world what it actually looked like when Jesus ruled. When we read his manifesto known as the Sermon on the Mount, we see that it was (and is) something altogether phenomenal. The 12 Musts of a Missional Church
I planted and pastored a church right out of seminary. After that I researched and wrote a Ph.D. thesis on Lesslie Newbigin’s missional ecclesiology. In answer to a seminary’s student’s question: What would you do if you were to do it again? I offered–and will offer–these twelve priorities. In fact, I have continued as a minister of preaching and have continued to keep these priorities before me.
